シームルグ
Gilded silver plate with a senmurwThe central creature is usually indentified as the senmurw of Zoroatrian mythology. It has the head of a snarling dog, the paws of a lion and the tail of a peacock. The bird depicted is described in Pahlavi literature as nesting on the tree without evil and many seeds and scattering them to encourage future growth. For this reason it was beleived to bestow khwarnah (glory and good fortune).About 7th -early 9th century, possibly from India

壺の 底部にシグルムの装飾もあり。 聖鳥シグルムとその両脇には獅子頭部が打ち出され、獅子の口部には突き出た穿孔がある。とっ手で持ち上げると向かいあった孔から流れ落ちる、それを同時に二人が受けて飲み、相互に契約、もしくは結婚の契りを果たすのに使用した
